Donald Trump has been raging ever since new indictments were announced against him on Thursday evening, but in the immediate aftermath of the announcement, the former President ran crying to his friends at Fox News. Trump told Fox News Digital that this is "prosecutorial misconduct" that is only happening because he's way ahead in the polls. Both of those accusations are false, and have nothing to do with what's happening. Farron Cousins explains what's going on. Link - https://www.huffpost.com/entry/donald...

*This transcript was auto-generated. Please excuse any typos. So on Thursday evening, as everybody knows by now, Donald Trump was hit with even more indictments in the documents case over his alleged, uh, prompting, I guess we'll call it, to get several of his staffers to go ahead and delete all those servers with all that surveillance footage. And of course, this order came three days after Donald Trump had been subpoenaed. So it's basically attempt to destroy evidence in the case against him. Now, Trump has spent the time since that indictment came down ranting and raving like a lunatic, as he always does. But in the immediate aftermath, this is what I found so interesting. In the immediate aftermath of that indictment coming down, Donald Trump went on Fox News. Now, the reason that I find that interesting is because Donald Trump has of course been railing against Fox News recently. He's talked about how horrible they are. His son and him, of course, have gone out there and said that Fox News is in the tank for Rhon DeSantis. So why do you run crying to Fox News if you hate them so much? If there's so much against you, why go to them in the first place? No, we don't really have an answer to that other than of course, Donald Trump loves attention and he doesn't care where it comes from, even if it is from a network that he claims hates him. But here is what Donald Trump told Fox News Digital shortly after the indictments were handed down. This is prosecutorial misconduct used at a level never seen before. If I weren't leading Biden by a lot in numerous polls and wasn't going to be the Republican nominee, it wouldn't be happening. It wouldn't be happening. Hopefully the Republican party will do something about it. So what he's of course doing here is telling the Republicans in Congress, save me. Do something. Make this all go away. And so far, only a handful of Republicans in the house have of course said I'll do something. Matt Gaetz, you know, threatened about a week ago that he was gonna defund all of Jack Smith's investigation with his special legislation. That, uh, as far as I've seen actually hasn't even come to fruition yet. Uh, the only legislation we've actually seen from Matt Gaetz recently is his proposed legislation to do away with a part of the Constitution that deals with birthright citizenship here in the United States. I have not yet seen a piece of legislation to specifically defund Jack Smith. So once again, Matt Gaetz is all talk No action. But either way, let's examine Donald Trump's claim here that again, he told Fox News prosecutorial misconduct. That is a phrase that Donald Trump has used repeatedly while talking about all these indictments he is facing. Yet, not once has he explained what it means. What I'm assuming is that somebody far smarter than Donald Trump mentioned that phrase one time and Trump overheard it and just committed it to his vocabulary. Like that is now a phrase I'm going to use and I'm going To throw it out every five seconds. Prosecutorial misconduct, I like the sound of that. And so that's what it's, he can't define it much like Republicans can't define woke, but he likes saying it. So he is gonna keep saying it. But then all the polls, right? Okay, the polls. The polls, numerous polls. He says show that he is beating Biden Bull crap. Actually, as of all of the latest polling data, there isn't a single poll that actually shows Donald Trump beating Joe Biden in a head-to-head matchup. That that's simply like, that's just a straight up lie. He is not beating Biden in any polls. He hasn't beaten Biden in any polls, by the way, I think, since March. So yeah, you really can't make that argument 'cause there's no polling to actually back it up, even though he did post some polls on true social. Uh, but they were all related to his standing in the Republican primary. His, uh, campaign, however, did issue a statement here. The statement says this, uh, this is nothing more than a continued desperate and flailing attempt by the Biden crime family and their Department of Justice to harass President Trump and those around him.
